Bubble Burst Printing

Materials:

  1. newspaper
  2. tempera or acrylic paint (dark colors work well)
  3. bubble blowing liquid
  4. drinking straws
  5. a flat pan large enough to hold paper, such as a baking pan
  6. thick paper

  1. Cover your work area with newspaper.
  2. Pour bubble liquid into the pan 1/4 inch deep.
  3. Stir 1-3 teaspoons of paint into the bubbles.
  4. Insert the end of a straw into the liquid. Blow gently into the straw to make a mound of bubbles.
  5. Gently place a piece of paper on top of the bubbles.
  6. Lift the paper. You should have a bubble print!
  7. Lay the piece of paper face up to let it dry.
  8. If you wish, repeat the steps above to make more bubble prints or to print with another color of bubbles.
  9. If the paper curls when it dries, flatten between two large books.
