Desert Trek Walking Stick

Materials:

1. Empty gift wrap tubes
2. Caps or duct tape to seal the ends
3. Newspaper
4. Seeds, pebbles, dried beans, or rice
5. Paint, contact paper, colored craft tape, or stickers

Directions:

1. Seal one end of each cardboard tube with a cap or duct tape.
2. Crumple a few pieces of newspaper into long "log."
3. Place newspaper inside each cardboard tube, leaving room for the beans or rice to move.
4. Add a few handfuls of beans or rice.
5. Seal the open end with a cap or duct tape.
6. Decorate the tube with paint, contact paper, colored craft tape, or stickers.
7. Turn sticks up and down to listen to the "rain!"
8. If desired, take the sticks on a walk.
