Give 'Em a Hand Octopus Craft

Materials:

1. colored construction paper
2. pencil
3. glue
4. crayons
5. scissors

Directions:

1. Use a pencil to trace each child's hands on construction paper.
2. Cut out the handprints.
3. If needed, use scissors to make even curves around the edges.
4. Choose a piece of blue paper for an ocean backdrop for the octopus.
5. Decorate the blue paper with sea designs, such as seaweed, little fish, or bubbles.
6. Place one handprint on top of the other with the fingers pointing down.
7. Overlap the handprints so the fingers create 8 octopus legs.
8. Glue or tape the octopus in place.
9. Use crayons to add detail, such as a face and suction cups on the legs.
