Leaf Magnets
Materials:
- Cardstock or heavyweight paper: The back of a cereal box will do.
- Fall leaves; The more variety the better.
- Tissue paper: Yellow, green, brown, orange and red.
- White glue
- Paper plate
- Marker
- Scissors
- Magnets
Directions:
- Have children find autumn leaves in different shapes and colors.
- Place one of the leaves on a piece of cardstock.
- Help children trace around leaf with a marker.
- Carefully help children cut out the leaf from with scissors.
- Use different leaves for a variety of shapes.
- Pour some glue onto paper plate.
- Have children tear tissue paper into approximately 2 inch squares.
- Crumple each square into a tiny ball.
- Dip them, one at a time, into the glue and attach them to their leaf cut-out.
- Continue glueing until the entire leaf cut-out is covered.
- Set aside to dry.
- When glue is dry, attach a magnet to the back of the leaf.
