Paper Bag Octopus
Materials:
- small paper bag (one per child)
- tempera paint
- newspaper
- yarn
- scissors
- markers or crayons
Directions:
- Paint the paper bag the color you want your octopus to be.
- Let paint dry.
- Crumple up a few sheets of newspaper into a ball.
- Place the ball of newspaper into the paper bag. Fill about 1/4 full.
- Wrap the bag around the newspaper. The round section will become the head.
- Tie a piece of yarn around the bag (under the head) to keep the newspaper in place.
- Cut the bottom of the paper bag into strips. These will be the "legs" or "tentacles."
- Use markers, crayons, or paint to make the octopus' face.
