Polka Dot Eggs
Materials:
- hardboiled, white-shelled eggs
- small sticker dots, about 3/8 inch in diameter
- Easter egg dye
- spoon
- cup or mug
- paper towels
Directions:
- Stickers will only adhere to dry eggs.
- If eggs have been refrigerated, warm to room temperature and dry off any condensation on the egg.
- Apply stickers to the eggs to make a polka dot pattern.
- Press firmly. Rub the edges of the stickers to prevent dye from bleeding under the stickers.
- In the cup or mug, mix dye with water according to package directions.
- Use spoon to lower each egg into the dye.
- Leave egg in the dye for several seconds.
- Remove the egg before the stickers soften and absorb dye.
- Use a paper towel to pat the egg dry.
- Gently peel off the stickers.
- If you have trouble, run a thin steam of cold water over the stickers until they soften, then rub away with your fingertip.
