Recipe Holder

Materials:

  1. 3 inch flower pot
  2. paint
  3. paint brushes or paint sponges
  4. plaster of paris
  5. plastic fork (1 for each recipe holder)
  6. silk or plastic flowers
  7. moss

Directions:

  1. Cover your table or project area to protect from drips.
  2. Have children paint the outside of the flower pot.
  3. Let dry completely.
  4. Mix plaster or paris according to package directions.
  5. Let plaster sit until it has thickened, but is still pourable. (If it is too runny, it will leak out of any holes in the bottom of the flower pot.)
  6. Pour plaster into pots.
  7. Stick the handle of the fork into the center of the pot. (The tines of the fork will hold a recipe card when project is complete.)
  8. Place the stems of flowers into the plaster to decorate.
  9. Add moss to hide any remaining plaster that is still showing.
  10. Let the plaster dry overnight.
