Turkey Tail Feather Hunt

Materials:

1. paper bag or basket (1 per child)
2. multicolored craft feathers

Directions:

1. Hide feathers in a room or outside in a yard or play area.
2. Tell the children that the turkey lost his tailfeathers.
3. Give each child a paper bag or basket to collect feathers.
4. Send the children off to hunt for feathers. Assist young children as needed.
5. Once all the feathers are found, the round is over.
6. Hide the feathers and play another round!
7. Variations: choose one child each round to help hide the feathers.
8. Competitive game for older children: See who can collect the most feathers.
