Ingredients (homes):
- 1/3 cup butter/margarine, melted
- 1 gallon popped popcorn (about 3/4 cup kernels) or WG cereal for kids at risk for choking
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, powdered
- 2 Tbsps. dry Ranch dressing mix
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
Ingredients (centers):
- 2 2/3 cups butter/margarine, melted
- 8 gallons popped popcorn (about 6 cups kernels) or WG cereal for kids at risk for choking
- 2 cups Parmesan cheese, powdered
- up to 1 cup dry Ranch dressing mix
- up to 2 Tbsps. + 2 tsps. parsley flakes
- up to 2 teaspoons onion powder
Directions:
- Pop kernels in butter/margarine OR drizzle over popped corn (or use butter flavor popcorn).
- Infant/toddler alternative: Use whole grain puffed cereal made from grains like millet, rice, or wheat for kids at risk of choking.
- Mix seasonings and cheese. Toss popcorn and seasoning mix in a bag to coat.
Serve:
3 cups popped popcorn to count as 1 oz eq for ages 6+
1 1/2 cups popped popcorn to count as 1/2 oz eq for ages 2-5
DCFS regulations prohibit popcorn for children under 2; substitute whole grain cereal for kids at risk of choking.
