Whole Wheat Bread (WG)

Ingredients (homes):

  • 1 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 TBSP. Honey*
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 1/2 cup Warm Water

Ingredients (centers):

  • 6 cup All Purpose Flour
  • 6 cup Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2 TBSP. Honey
  • 2 TBSP. Salt
  • 2 tsp. Active Dry Yeast
  • 6 cup Warm Water

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Cover with plastic wrap for 8-24 hours at room temperature.
  3. Shape into a loaf/loave(s). Place on a baking sheet on parchment paper. Let rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Bake 20 minutes covered with foil. Bake uncovered 10-15 minutes longer.

Serve:

1 portion = 1 oz. eq. whole grain serving
*Substitute sugar for honey for children under the age of 1.
